    Usual technical questions. Easy. Programming stuff. Nothing very hard. Some whiteboard and some general algorithm questions. etc. Write some code in either C or java but I can't remember the details at this point.

    first interview - typical java questions; then on-site round of 5 interviews: 1 - refactor a poorly written class, 2,3 - typical technical interviews with simple questions like in 'cracking the coding interview', 4 - web-app design questions, 5 - surprisingly rude and disrespectful manager, background questions, design questions and geometrical problem (expects you to resolve it using the solution he knows)
    everyone except the last person was quite nice

    phone and tech onsite. Has some good people and some disrepectful ones. One of my interviewers(higher mgmt) was particularly rude/un-interested. Not much you can do when your interviewers come with that kind of an attitude.

    All my rounds were good. But i couldnt answers "Best Questions" described below.

    I applied online and contacted by a recruiter about a week later. The initial phone screen went well and the recruiter wanted to move forward with a follow up call with the direct hiring manager. A week went by with no word from the recruiter. Email sent out to follow up. Another week went by with continued silence. One more attempt to reach out and still nothing.

    I understand that recruiters have a lot of candidates to vet, but it is really unprofessional and misleading to tell a candidate how they would be a great fit and then dark. At least send me a generic denial email so I can move on.

    I was contacted by the hiring manager based on my profile and experience. After the initial phone interview of 45 mins, I was offered a 2nd phone interview with one of my peers in the same position, roughly the same length. Next step was a face to face interview with one of my managers peers- lasted about an hour, very informal. After a check of my references, I was invited to travel to meet my new manager out of state (expenses paid) where he concluded the process and made me an offer.

    • I had been cut during the recession twice, so had some gaps in my timeline on my resume. I needed to explain why I was cut. This turned out to be a formality, they recognized that I had a good track record and these jobs didn't reflect on my poorly.   Answer Question

    I had a good initial conversation with recruiter. Went in person for interviews with multiple people that lasted 5 hours! Everybody was late and no one had reviewed my resume before hand. They all asked the same question and it seemed as if there was no prior conversation before I came in about what they were looking for in the position. The entire team seemed frantic, unorganized and burnt out. Too much to do, too little resources. I felt as if they were trying to scare me and see how I would react to an intense environment. I also felt as if they were very impressed with themselves and seemed to think their company challenges were unique to other software companies in the valley. More than once, it was mentioned to me that they were filing to go public, which is often indicator that they are looking for an acquisition buyer. . But we all know that most companies have the same type of problems , and just throwing people to constantly do small project does not take the place of a sound and strategic plan. I was disappointed with their interview approach and felt it was disrespectful to treat someone who was trying to learn about their company, and spending 5 hours trying to get a feel for what the job really entailed and what chance there was for someone like myself to succeed. Needless to say I left there with a huge headache, and a total lack of respect for their hodge podge approach to building a marketing organization. It was the first time in my 20 years, after working at multiple software companies, that I actually left an interview feeling happy to escape, and sorry for the people working there.
