MuleSoft contacted me and with a very efficient one hour introduction to their technology, business and strategy asked if I'd like to apply for this role in pre-sales. They made very clear from the very beginning what they are looking for and that recruitment process will be fast, intensive and transparent. First I had very basic technical Skype screening to ensure I know the field followed by a longer video interview with hiring manager. Next came a presentation at London office on case study and implementation for sales and presales directors. Five references were requested and all of them were interviewed at the soonest. Finally a series of in-depth Skype interviews all the way to top management. All this took about 3 weeks end-to-end. I was exhausted at times but also impressed on the dedication, professionalism, speed and transparency of hiring as was promised.
While technological skills were verified in different ways, emphasis clearly on interviews was on alignment to their strategy and personality fit with organisation. Also they look for smart individuals that have opinions and insights into their field, ability to deliver in sometimes chaotic environment and ambition to grow.
