I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at N26 (London, England) in May 2021
Interview
Initial assessment video call with a recruiter discussing experience and company overview. Second technical interview with a panel consisting of 1 manager and 2 developers discussing several topics from candidate experience with their tech stack, security, web performance and workplace diversity stance.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at N26 (Berlin) in Nov 2019
Interview
Despite being a successful and well-known company, the whole process didn't give me a positive impression of how seriously they took it. 1. Interview with HR Beforehand, noticeable delay in their response to email correspondence. Impersonal and distant interview. 2. Coding Challenge, online home assessment The coding challenge involved creating a debounce function for multiple button elements in a JavaScript/HTML context 3. On-site meeting with the frontend team I was introduced to the front-end team and the questions were not focused on technical aspects. It didn't click between us, which is fine, but overall uncomfortable experience because of the lack of proficiency from the team members in conducting interviews.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Besides the general get-to-know-you questions, technical questions were about Web accessibility and the review of the coding challenge.
Call with HR, interview with the team leads, interview with the CTO. Everyone super friendly, loved talking with the team leads. Most questioned centered around people skills, learning skills etc, little tech. CTO a little buzzwordy but otherwise ok.
