The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at N26 (Berlin) in Jan 2016
Interview
They call you for a quick interview to know you and them pass you a medium test to prove your methods and some machine learning techniques.
I took 3 days to give the solution with detail steps and then after 10 days just receive a generic email about I did not get the job. I feel like they just want to do not pay any consultant so they just "try" to hire people to have a brainstorm with them.
Next time I will apply:
Request a payment agreement for substantial creative efforts. If an interviewer asks you to prepare a detailed sample of your work that will take many hours of your time, say, “I’d be happy to do that for you, but I’d like to get an agreement that I’ll be compensated if I’m not hired and you use my work.” That’s a reasonable request that a well-intentioned interviewer is likely to agree to and is unlikely to hurt your chances of getting a job. If the interviewer does agree, send an e-mail confirming the terms of this agreement after the interview.
Next time Number26 pay for consultants do not be that kind of company.

Interview
It was an HR screening. I was asked about the relevant experience in generative large linguistic models, end to end machine learning solutions and the motivation. As the next step had to be a test task.
I applied online. I interviewed at N26 (Berlin) in Oct 2023
Interview
Started with a 30-minute call to get to know each other. Then she asked me to analysis and send it as soon as possible, I asked if they are hiring on rolling basis but she said no we don't and when I asked why you wanted me to send the analysis as soon as possible, she said "The faster you send us the analysis the better the better for you". I spent 30+ hours working on it and made a really good presentation, got an invitation for a 90-minute call with a lead and manager. At this point, I felt like all the comments below were true. I got rejected after this one and the reason for rejection was "My modeling approach is not the best". Please if you're reading this, consider the comments below before applying.
