      Seasonal Sales Associate Interview

      6 May 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Milton, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at New Balance (Milton, ON) in Mar 2026

      Interview

Interview process was quite unrealistic with the amount of candidates they brought in for one group interview. The employers said this method was most effective but in my opinion it felt lazy. Employers had us doing group conversations with a couple questions and one of them we were given a piece of paper to write one word that defined good customer service. After these conversations they proceeded to send us out on "tasks" which included going around the store, choosing an item, and then bringing it back trying to advertise it to the customers (the employers themselves and the group) another task involved us partnering up and going around the store alternating between roleplaying as an associate or a customer with the objective of again selling the item. During this specific task the employers just stood amongst themselves not even observing on how/what we were doing or watching our skills. Overall I think it was tedious for a lot of people and I do understand that not all interviews have to be "professional" but this just felt like too may people and lazy..? for a group interview for a retail store.
