I applied online. I interviewed at New York Life (Stamford, CT) in Mar 2012
Interview
The recruiter worked very hard at selling me on the position. They misrepresented much of what they said. Although the interview process was billed as being sophisticated and in-depth, I found it was largely oriented toward selling me on the opportunity. I realized later that this firm approaches recruiting by hiring at least five times the number of agents they can support and then washes out most during the first year, after which they pocket the commissions the now departed agents wrote in their first year.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Asked repeatedly about my personal, social and business network.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at New York Life (Jacksonville, FL) in May 2026
Interview
Did a phone interview, vague on offering to try and get you in the door for a F2F. Skeptical towards moving forward due to lack of upfront information and information found online for the fast track to management position.
Super easy interview process that focuses more on you asking questions rather than getting interviewed. If you want this job make sure you spend time asking questions about the company and learning more about the role. Also just realize.

Initial meeting is to understand the prospective hire and meet the recruiting team and other principals. Second meeting is with CEO to get a marketing study completed along with some company history.
