I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Atlanta, GA) in Apr 2007
Interview
Initial contact was made at a career fair. The representative was very professional and invited me in for an interview shortly after our conversation. From here, I met with the Managing Director one-on-one and was introduced to the career. The first interview is more informational and conversational than anything else (I interviewed with three of their offices so I am familiary with the process). Shortly afterwards I was called back for a second interview which was more me informing them of my career goals and background. The third interview consists of a series of personal interviews with representatives in the firm. Again, they are designed to be conversational. The fourth interview is an income projection and offer.
There were four or five interviews, if you count the meeting with my future mentor. There were also a few personality assessments. Lots of paperwork. The finance industry is tightly regulated.
The first interview was easygoing and went fairly well. We talked a little on myself and what northwestern was all about. Because they wanted to see how I could fit in to their team and what I would bring.
I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Greenville, SC)
Interview
The process was smooth and straight forward. A lot of behavioral based questions, but relaxed and low stress. First phase is a phone screening followed by a teams or in person meeting.
