I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual in Mar 2010
Interview
I called looking to learn more about summer internship opportunities and was able to schedule an interview very quickly. The interview consisted mainly of her explaining the different aspects of the internship and sales cycle, along with asking me about my history in the area. She emphasized that networking and knowing people from which to get referrals from would be very important as an intern and that many of the people that do enter the program are "coached out" because the job is not a good fit for them. In addition, she mentioned that most people (as in about 89%) leave the financial industry from this type of position in the first five years.

Question 1
Please tell me about yourself: where you're from, your schooling, etc.
Straightforward process, interviewed with them on campus. They provided the information I needed. I decided to not move ahead with the interview process as it did not align with my goals, but the interviewers were cordial and professional.
Felt like they were selling me something the whole time. Super easy to talk to, but something just felt off the whole time. Had multiple phases of them explaining why they're so perfect and great to work for (massive selection bias in some of their numbers)
