I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (San Diego, CA) in Nov 2009
Interview
Got called in for interview and prior to meeting 1:1 was asked to complete a couple of test including a personality test. Towards the end of the interview the interviewee told me I would probably not be hired because I did not have enough personal potential customers. This was after I told them that I had only been living in the area where the job was located for a year. It makes me wonder if they hire people based on how many of their own connections they can bring in

I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Greenville, SC)
Interview
Very casual, over the phone, expect to cold call even if they say you won't. Almost zero technical questions and seemed rather rushed. Probably wouldn't advise unless you have no other options.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (West Hartford, CT) in Nov 2024
Interview
First was a phone call interview. Then in person with the cheif recruiter. They had me come in for a third interview to meet two more representiatives and gave me assignements to start building my clients
I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Honolulu, HI)
Interview
The initial interview was fine. If you wish to proceed they'll give you an assignment that will take some time to prepare. If they offer you a position you'll find its mostly all networking through your personal connections for sales. Not ideal.
