      Graduate Trader Interview

      1 Apr 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Swansea, Wales
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at OSTC (Swansea, Wales)

      Interview

Applied on-line and was asked to complete a questionnaire. Then followed a relaxed interview with two manager figures at the company. The interview lasted about an hour with numerous psychometric and maths tests. The interview was fairly informal with a genuine interest in the candidate, not a matter of tough, catch-you-out questions. The process concluded with an assessment day at a later date, again a fairly relaxed environment. Overall, a very positive experience.

      Graduate Trader Interview

      24 Sept 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Swansea, Wales
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at OSTC (Swansea, Wales) in Jul 2015

      Interview

The initial interview was fairly relaxed and informal, not particularly intimidating. There were two managers in the interview who showed you briefly around the office before asking questions about things such as your risk profile, knowledge of the company and interest in financial markets. There was also a short numeracy test along with small computer-based tests. The next stage was an assessment day with about 10 other applicants. This day included another numeracy test, team-related exercises, some short off-the-cuff presentations and an hour or so having a go on some trading simulators.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Are you aware of how we trade at OSTC? What sort of markets do we trade?

      Graduate Trader Interview

      3 Jul 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Swansea, Wales
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at OSTC (Swansea, Wales) in Feb 2015

      Interview

Very relaxed, personality based. Nothing unexpected. Interesting question arose regarding 'if another trader is having a good day, would you listen to his strategy?' Response: No, I would listen, but not follow unless I saw the rationality as it would act to increase the risk profile of the desk. - 'Yes, as we encourage new traders to share info'

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How would you perceive your risk profile as a trader?
