      Customer Experience Associate Interview

      7 Feb 2011
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Old Navy in Jan 2011

      Interview

I was a little early to this interview, and was told to browse while I waited for my interviewer. I spent a while browsing and was eventually approached by an employee about whether I was finding everything okay. That was the first time they actually told me the interviewer was on a conference call and it would be a little while, which I found rude. When I was finally taken back, the backroom was a mess. The interviewer asked some basic questions, how I dealt with an unhappy customer, what my availability was, what would I do if I saw a manager being dishonest, had I ever dealt with a dishonest coworker, etc. She also asked if I was interested in logistics, as they "always" needed people for that. I told her I was interested, but I would have to get back to her for sure on whether the hours would be okay. I asked two questions, what the dress code was, and whether it is teamwork or individual work. I was then taken out to greet customers using the Old Navy script, which was difficult since it was so slow while I was there. The interviewer eventually gave up on that, and we returned to the back for some final talking, and she told me I would know within a week because she still had interviews to do. It's been two weeks and no call, not even to tell me I wasn't hired. I was also told by a friend that works at that Old Navy that they just fired people at the same time as I was being interviewed, so there was probably no opening.

      Interview

Three different in person interviews over the course of 2 weeks with three different managers who were incredibly nice until I was actually hired, then they couldn't be bothered, my store had a tendency to way over hire.

      Interview

All interviews are the same for Old Navy until you're applying for a higher-level management position. Standard and straight-forward questions to assess your personality and previous work experience. Not demanding at all. If they bring you back in for a second interview you probably will get the job as they're always looking for new hires and it's not too hard of a job.

      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Old Navy (Richmond, BC)

      Interview

Received a call asking me to come in for a group interview about a week after I applied online. Before the interview officially started, we played a game as an icebreaker. Then we split into 2 groups of 4 and the interviewer started asking us questions. We first wrote down our individual answers, then discussed our answers within our groups. One person from each group would then report the agreed-upon answer to the interviewer. They were pretty standard interview questions. After, the interviewer talked to us individually for a couple of minutes to go over our resume, ask us why we're applying, etc. Of the 8 in my group that were interviewed, 5 were offered positions. The 5 of us were basically the ones that talked the most/showed the most communication skills. This was for seasonal positions.

      Question 1

The interviewer started to tell a story, and had everybody in the room add a sentence to the story.
