I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Old Navy in Oct 2015
Interview
I applied about 2 weeks ago. The following week, I had a phone screening with the store manager. She asked me some typical interview questions such as what is my availability, why Old Navy & what do you know about Old Navy. She was impressed with my answers that she scheduled me for an in-person interview in two weeks.
Prior the the interview, I look up other people's experiences on this site. Most people stated that they attended an "audition" & bring something they are passionate about. Since I wasn't asked that, I assumed that I was going to have a one-to-one interview. I just had my interview. I walk in 15 mins prior to my interview, only to find out that there was 7 other people there. Normally I don't do group interviews, I feel like the employers don't get to know you as an individual & only care about your answers. However, I'm so glad I decided to go for it! She asked a few questions, which I'll post below, & made sure everyone got the chance to answer. Afterwards, she told us she will check out applications real quick to let us know the status of our application. So I spoke with a few people in the meantime. After a few minutes, she called me out and offered me the position on the spot & now I start Tuesday! Just a few tips: make sure to research the company!, dress professionally, & just be yourself! The store I applied to hasn't even opened yet & they were hiring over 60 part time people, which is why they were having group interviews to fill up the position adapt. The group interview is mostly for them to see if you are a people person.
Group interview, almost like a game with dice used to answer questions. Each person had to share what they thought and take turns. Pleasant interview process, very casual. Some applicants wore jeans
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What's something you think will come back in fashion?
Most of the interview was basic and what you would expect, but they did include a portion where you pretend to help customers looking for outfits/items for specific occasions and that makes it fun!
