Other Loan Officer interview reviews for OneMain Financial
The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at OneMain Financial (Jasper, IN) in Mar 2024
Interview
I interviewed for this 3 weeks ago from the date I am posting this. I applied for the positions of Loans Officer from a posting that stated it has been open for 30+ days. Got a call from a recruiter asking me a little about myself and my background. He was extremely friendly and set me up with the branch manager. When that day came I showed up early and he was in the back, that’s all they said, so I waited about 20 minutes. Like I said I was early, so didn’t mind waiting.
He took me into an office and proceeded to tell me he hadn’t interviewed anyone in a really long time. He asked me six random questions that did have to do with the job, but they were all pretty similar. He was a really nice person and I thought we got along great, he let me know that he would be passing my resume and info on to his personal manager who would supposedly make the final decision. He gave me his business card and said I would hear from them “in a day or two”. I did not.
I interviewed on Tuesday and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt - higher ups are busy, can’t always look at resumes, etc. I decided to wait until the following Monday. Heard nothing. The next day, I called into the branch to talk to the manager and see if any decisions had been made. He said his own manager was on spring break until the following Monday. I said okay, thanked him, hung up. I assumed I would hear something a week ago today, because it’s already been 2 weeks. Keep in mind this branch is understaffed by 2-3 people, as well.
I did not get a call last Tuesday. I decided to call last Wednesday just to see if anything had changed. I would even accept if they just didn’t want to hire me, just wanted to know so that I could move on and hopefully find something else. I called and spoke to a kind lady who was not the manager. She informed me he was in a meeting so she took a message for me. I expected a call back, got nothing. I assume they do not like me/want to hire me based on this series of events. The process does come off as unprofessional to me, despite being relatively easy. I live paycheck to paycheck so waiting around for company higher ups to make decisions on a whim is not something I’m financially stable enough to do. Hope they find or found the right fit since it was not me, but just a little consideration to at least tell me to move on would have been much appreciated.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked me a series of questions about my work background and what I was looking for in a job.
I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at OneMain Financial (Mesa, AZ) in Nov 2021
Interview
It was nice, the manager was informative and professional. It was an easy interview process. Very casual and comfortable interview. I applied, was called by manager and set up a time for me to go in. The very next day I entered the branch and sat down with the manager and began the interview.
