The interview process was drawn out and filled with numerous inconsistencies and false promises regarding compensation and travel budgets. For two weeks I attempted to get answers about insurance coverage and was never given the information I requested. Personally, I believe they gave me no answer rather than confirm that a medication (Wegovy) is not covered under their plan formulary. Ultimately an offer was extended (and later withdrawn).
It is important to note that Open Farm was made aware of an existing misdemeanor on record before a written offer was extended. An offer was extended but with an incredibly restrictive non-compete agreement buried in the 30+ page offer. My lawyer brought my attention to the provisions and how broad they were (total industry lockout for one year no matter the manner of separation). I highlighted my concerns regarding the non-compete and stated I would only sign a non-compete with an equivalent term of severance, several days later the offer was withdrawn and I was told by HR that it was due to the organization becoming aware of my inability to pass a background check. Never mind the fact that the hiring manager had been notified before a written offer was ever extended…
The gaslighting that goes on here is beyond wild. All that glitters is not gold. At first I was very excited about this organization, but every single touch point left me with an increasingly uneasy feeling.
