I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Opower
Interview
Applied and a few days later a recruiter contacted me to schedule phone screen. The screen was fairly simple and the recruiter was very friendly. She told me she'd be in touch in a few days and gave a date a few weeks away saying that would be the ideal date to have finished the whole process and made a final selection. I sent a thank you email and waited, keeping an eye on my status via the Jobvite system. After two weeks, I hadn't heard anything and emailed the recruiter just to follow up. A week and a half later, after still not receiving any news or updates from the recruiter, I noticed the Jobvite status had changed from "In Process" to "Closed." I was disappointed by having such a frustrating experience because many other reviews seemed to be overall quite positive.

I was referred by an Opower employee for my current position. After submitting my resume I had a phone interview, followed by a 1:1 a few days later. After my background check went through I was presented with an offer.
I am very happy here. I love the people, the culture, and the companies mission.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Opower (Arlington, VA) in Jan 2012
Interview
I originally found out about the internship via LinkedIn. I had applied for the position in early January and within a couple of weeks I heard back from the recruiting coordinator. We spoke over the phone and I was scheduled for the interview. The recruiting coordinator and I exchanged several phone and email conversations and I was given very transparent, explicit details in regards to the schedule that I would need to follow on the day of the interview. I met and interviewed with three individuals from the department. In addition, I was given a tour of the office, which was a warm touch to the entire process. The interview lasted couple of hours. Within a week, the director of talent acquisition contacted and I was offered the position. Overall, I had a very pleasant interviewing experience.
