      Marketing Interview

      4 May 2025
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I interviewed at Oxford University Press

      Interview

It was a two staged process - thorough, respectful and professional but not uptight. Went over some hypothetical/ scenario questions as well as a few more relaxed questions. Friendly atmosphere

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Oxford University Press (New York, NY)

      Interview

After a pre submission phone call, phone screen with recruiter, in person interview with the director, and then in person interview where I had 1 on 1s with various team members that spanned across a timeline of over a month, I was told I would hear back in a week. Two weeks later, after various attempts on my part to get in contact, I was called at the very end of the day on a Friday and rejected. Feedback was not helpful as my experience was noted to be "great" but the reasons I was being rejected were vague. Interview questions were not structured and I felt that I was not asked about the full depth and breadth of my experience.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Oxford University Press

      Interview

I applied for a different role, but after reviewing my application they thought it would be a better fit for this role. Interview was relatively positive with a relaxed vibe and were accommodating considering I was travelling at the time. I was offered the job, however it was rescinded because I wasn't a graduate, but this was never mentioned anywhere in the job description or by them at all. THEY were the ones who recommended I apply; they should have at least taken a glance at my CV; my 'Education' section was right at the top!! They accepted no responsibility for their mistake, or even apologised. Wouldn't recommend.
