      Sales Representative Interview

      12 Nov 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Paycom (New York, NY) in Apr 2019

      Interview

Intervirwed for the Pasadena position a few years back. I was contacted by multiple recruiters for paycom throughought the years on linkedin. I'm only writing this interview because another one reached out to me again recently with the same generic email...All of them reached out to me via inmail, but would never respond after I replied. Funny enough the same hiring manager I eventually interviewed with even in mailed me once, and never replied to my message to set something up. Eventually one recruiter actually ended up responding to their own inmail, and set up an interview with me hiring manager. This was a few years ago. The manager was late to the interview, and condescending from the get. One of her first comments was literally "I hope you realize my base salary is $200k." She seemed skeptical of my experiences when asking about my background, and asked why I was there to even interview. At one point, I wanted to pull up the cold inmail so bad that she wrote herself explaining why she thought my experience was good, and wanted me to come in to chat, but I felt it wasn't even worth it at that point. I think there needs to be some training done, on the idea that just because you are handed a good opportunity to make money with little to no technical know how out of college, doesn't make you better than people who weren't. It just means you were fortunate. There's a reason why a job like this does not require you to have a master's in engineering... literally anyone can do it, that's why you were picked.

Quick, easy zoom call. Overall pleasant experience. Did not get an offer, but the recruiter was very kind and helpful. There are several interview stages; I did the first two.

      Interview

They make you take a whole day off work to come in and make cold calls for them. These calls are unpaid labor. They attend the meetings you book and still won’t offer you the job.
