      Sales Interview

      I interviewed at Paylocity

      Interview

Strange interviewing process. Seemed disorganized and unprofessional. Recruited via LinkedIn. Had a screening phone call. 2 Zoom interviews. And a mock call interview. It appeared that the mock call was structures like a "trick question" in a way. Meaning, the outline/instructions said to "act our discovery and use/modify their high-level pitch deck to sell their solution. They provided objections ahead of the call too. 30 mins total. I used 22 mins for disco/qualification/objection handling and 8 for the high-level pitch deck/booking next steps, but I was given feedback after to have done less of the pitch deck and closing steps. My advice would be to ditch the pitch deck that they provide you with altogether. Unfortunately it appeared on most rounds of interviewing that folks were multitasking so I often had to repeat myself.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Paylocity (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2022

      Interview

I applied for a sales role with Paylocity and a recruiter reached out to scheduled an interview with me. I blocked off the time from my schedule, spent a bunch of time prepping for the call and was ready to go... but sadly the recruiter totally blew off the interview. No email... no call... nothing. When I reached out to see what was going on, the recruiter said had been busy with her kids and couldn't make the call. She asked me if I could reschedule, I said yes... but then I never heard from her again. I don't like wasting my time, or being mislead. Why waste people time like this? What's up with the silly games?? Why don't you respect the people in your interview process? Advice for Paylocity: Show your candidates respect. Don't waste candidate's time. Follow up in a timely matter... and if you are going to blow off calls that YOU schedule... at least send a note so that candidates aren't sitting around waiting for recruiters to show up, who never do.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Paylocity (Arlington Heights, IL)

      Interview

Did a phone screen, phone interview, and in-person interview within a week. The interview was very thorough, asking about various projects I've worked on and asked me to put something together so they could see my skills at work. My only qualm is that I got the offer at the end of the day (like 4:30pm) and had to give an answer by noon the following business day. I didn't love being rushed, it should have been a sign.
