      Showroom Host Interview

      5 Aug 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Aylesbury, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Perrys Motor Sales (Aylesbury, England) in Jul 2021

      Interview

This interview took the form of an assessment day, starting with a brief overview of the company and each candidate introducing ourselves to the room. Tower building exercise to show our teamwork and communication skills before moving onto a interview where we simply had to talk for a minute without mentioning cars or previous work experience - bit strange for a dealership position. After about every other exercise, several candidates were removed and told they had failed, I was in the last group to be removed which was just before the end of the day, having just finished a role play exercise - in front of the whole room, each candidate (Acting as Salesperson) takes turns talking to a current employee (Acting Customer) and trying to extract information to recommend a suitable car. Overall I thought it was a strange experience as the contact beforehand suggested I was attending an interview, but other candidates would also be on the premises, but no mention of it being a "recruitment day".
