      Product Specialist Interview

      15 Dec 2016
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Qualtrics (New York, NY)

      Interview

Lengthy interview process, but pretty simple. First round: Phone screen asking about your interest in the position and what you know about Qualtrics. Followed up by a coding assessment that is pretty simple. You are given a few days to go through a tutorial and then take a test. Following Rounds: I was scheduled 4 additional 30 minute video interviews. The first portion of this was just 1 30 minute behavioral which was the toughest of the 4. I was asked if I had any experience with customer service, a case type market sizing question. This was followed by 3 straight 30 minute video interviews a week later. They were all behavioral nothing out of the ordinary. Typical "tell me about a time when..." Questions. After this I was given an offer and offered to be flown out to see the office in Provo, UT. The office was amazing and the culture was very welcoming and friendly. I really liked what Qualtrics had to offer from this perspective. There were a ton of young people and they make it seem like there are numerous types of opportunities at the company as Qualtrics is definitely getting bigger and bigger. It was a hard decision but I ultimately turned down the offer. Base salary is pretty low (cost of living is relatively low so it's not the end of the world, and promotions happen rather quickly). The main reason I turned the offer down was because I didn't see myself acquiring transferable skills that I could use somewhere else if I ever decided to leave. Another thing that I noticed was there was a lack of diversity at the office, and this was a huge thing for me as I come from a very diverse school. Also Utah has many mormons (not that I am against mormons), but it would have been a huge cultural shift for me, and probably harder for me to meet people compared to another city right out of college. These were the factors that made me decline, but I am sure that if I accepted, I would have had a great time as well. Again, it was a tough decision, but I decided to do what was best for me. Good luck!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Estimate the number of cars owned in your home city? Tell me about a time you were innovative? Tell me about a time you had to deal with a difficult team member? Tell me about a time you failed? Tell me about a time where you created an opportunity instead of waiting for it to come to you?

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Qualtrics

      Interview

Very straightforward typical straight forward behavioral questions “tell me a time you solved a difficult problem” etc. She asked a lot of follow up questions to stories so make sure you go detailed. Didn’t have a ton of questions prepped so again, it’s beneficial go in detail.
