Phone interview. He said it would take about 15 minutes but we talked for over 30. I was able to ask a lot of questions and he was really friendly. He told me what to expect, which was nice. They want to make sure you will be available for the entire time it takes to open a new store up through the holiday season.

The interview was during the pandemic so interview was a self submitted recording video answering 4-5 questions. You have 3 attempts at a 3 minute answer. Most of the questions had to do with your values and how it lines up with REI

Only made it past the first round of email questions. They were very polite and told me they would not be moving forward. I believe it was due to a high influx of applications and not being able to schedule more than two orientations. I would love to apply to REI again. Hopefully a position opens up after the summer.

They asked me what my availability was for working as well as orientation dates.
I walked in the store to ask if they are hiring right now. In the meantime I left them my resume. She was nice and told me they are hiring. Also she directly asked me few questions as below. Because it was a walked-in at a busy hours, it was not so much to say.
