      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at REI in Aug 2009

      Interview

The interview process included a number of candidates, including some incumbent candidates. It was a good, intelligent process based on experience, and fit for the specific requirements of the job.

      Interview

HR was very communicative and courteous. Based on team interview, felt like position was filled before my meeting with them or that team did not think I was a fit. Hard to tell.

Pleasant, enthusiastic the team seemed really nice. I interviewed with four people, but then was told they were going to be considering other candidates. I requested some feedback, because I get i had dedicated some time and didn’t feel anything went wrong - but didn’t hear from them again.

      Interview

I've interviewed for multiple positions in REI's corporate marketing department and the process is very slow. All recruiters I've been in contact with are very unresponsive (many unanswered emails, calls, voicemails). I had the hiring manager's email and debated looping them in but ultimately decided the recruiter should be handling this. For a salaried 6-figure role, I assumed they would take better care to communicate effectively with their candidates - especially those that make it past a second or third round interview!
