I submitted my resume to the online job posting and I was contacted by the lead recruiter about 2 weeks later. I had a phone screen with her were we talked about my experience and my interest in video games. This went pretty well and I just explained how much I've always enjoyed playing games and I explained some of the history that I knew about the company.
She contacted me that same day with a request to complete an online programming assessment through Codility. I agreed and spent the weekend looking up what Codility was and how to use it. The site seems pretty straightforward so I proceeded to take the test.
There were two questions and they give you 100 minutes to complete them. The questions were pretty simple and open ended but I ended up getting very low scores on both. The results did not explain why I was scored the way that I was and there were no indications as to what went wrong during the submission process. The site seems a little buggy and when I ran my solutions through an IDE locally everything worked well. I also checked my time complexities and both were O(n) so I'm not sure why I was scored so low.
I would suggest doing Codility's "Practice" and "Learning" problems for a while before attempting the test questions. I'm still not sure what went wrong but I'm sure it was something to do with the way Codility grades the assignments.
