      Front Desk Receptionist Interview

      2 Jul 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Newark, DE
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Rodeway Inn (Newark, DE) in Jul 2019

      Interview

I applied online and received a call the day after. We scheduled an interview for the followong Tuesday. Tuesday arrives and so do I to be greeted by a large sign at the entrance that states the property is under surveillance for prostitution and illegal drug activity. I go into the lobby. They ask me to wait and I read the bulletin board that has papers posted to it to realize that it is a court case filed against them recently by the State because of illegal activity on the premises! Red flag number 2. Finally I was told no one was aware that I was coming in to interview, that they'd hired 2 people already, but that the position was open to me "if their training didn't work out." I thanked them for their time and got out of there as fast as my feet could carry me. The pay would've been an insulting $9.50/hour.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

She didn't know what to ask. I was the one interviewing her at that point.
