I applied online. I interviewed at Ross Stores in Jul 2024
Interview
They called me a few days after I submitted my application for an interview. Once I arrived, I informed the person there, and was told to wait by the shoes area on a bench. There, I was informed that the hiring manager did not realize that my interview was today (despite the fact that it was, because immediately after receiving the call, I wrote it down). However, despite this confusion I still received an interview that day after waiting for awhile. The interview itself was easy, the manager asked me a few basic questions, explained the job responsibilities, and I gave her my resume. I left with the idea that I had nailed the job interview, an impression that was unfortunately wrong. A week later I received an email informing that I did not get the job. A fact that is ironic, since awhile after that I went in the store to shop, and they were conducting same day interviews. Beggars cannot be choosers, but I guess they have not learned that lesson.

Question 1
Are you able to work during high stress situations/environments?
it was very pleasant and they will almost always hire you if you are a tolerable person who can work hard and well with others. It would be strange to not hear back from them within a week due to how much demand they usually have for employees.
Very lowkey. They asked basic interview questions. They just wanted to know availability for work and if you’re available during their most busy hours. Nothing super professional, but they want to make sure you’re going to actually come into work.
When arriving, they do accommodate you to sit in the break room while waiting on an interview, which is great because you’re not standing around the store looking crazy. When you get in the back and we’ll meet with the Store Manager or an assistant manager short it seems rushed like they genuinely didn’t have time set aside for interviews. They were trying to move along candidates.

About my availability. Whether nights and weekends were an issue.
