      Application

The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Sainsbury’s (Edinburgh, Scotland) in Oct 2016

      Interview

Application: I applied on the Thursday afternoon/evening time - the application involved a small quiz on how you would handle different situations. Telephone interview: I was emailed Friday 10am asking to phone in for an interview, I didn't get a chance to phone until the Monday and they asked basically if I had the legal rights to work in the UK, to verify my references and my main interview type question was "Why Sainsburys?" They said I had passed the telephone interview and they would like me to come into an interview on Friday. Interview: The email I received told me to go to the store I was interviewing for, this was wrong and they apologised and I was 10 minutes late as I had to take a bus to another store (not a huge issue, I'd have been later but I was 20-15 minutes early for my interview originally). They took me up and I got the one-to-one interview pretty much straight away. The person interviewing me was friendly and the questions weren't too hard, they asked you to base everything on their values and on experience you have of doing these things. They ask to see your passport (proof to work in the UK) and your proof of address. You go back through and wait until everyone else gets their interviews and then they split the group up into smaller groups (4 and a 5) and made us read a "letter" from our store manager telling us what the mystery shoppers had said about our store. We had to decide how to fix these things. We were told we would hear back within 5 days. Final result: By the following Friday, I phoned HR and I asked them what was happening as I hadn't heard back yet, they let me know I would hear back within 48 hours or I should phone HR again. On Saturday at 1pm I received a text&email saying I had got the job and I had to phone within 24 hours to confirm the job. I phoned and confirmed, I have an induction on Thursday (paid) and I am to tell them at the induction how much notice I need to give my old work.

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Sainsbury’s (London, England)

      Interview

It was mainly about shop floor processes and how I related to other members of staff. I had been working there 2 years already so it was quite easy for me.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Sainsbury’s (Greenford, England) in Jun 2017

      Interview

Fairly straight forward application and assessment online. I received a text message 3 days after applying online to call sainsbury for a telephone interview. The telephone interview was again straight forward and I was told that I was successful and have been invited to a face to face interview and assessment. Interview was good, but had one difficult question but all was good and I got through it. Then I had an group assessment(there 4 of us), we had to read a letter about a customer complaint and had to make notes, then dicuss it as a group(2 people were observing us).
