      Customer Representative Interview

      2 Nov 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Calgary, AB
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Scotiabank (Calgary, AB) in Nov 2016

      Interview

I applied online, after 2 weeks of waiting I reached an HR person on LinkedIn to reiterate my interest in this position. She was very supportive and interview process was very fast. Firstly, I had a video interview, where I had 8 questions on the screen, 1 min to prepare and 3 min to answer. I could review my answer, but I only could answer them once. After the interview (on the same day) HR sent me a link to online questionnaire and simulation. Questionnaire had general questions about you work experience and education and around 100 adjectives to describe your personality (like outspoken, mild mannered, venturesome, calm) and you choose how it describe you on the scale from 1 to 5. Online simulation was like a cartoon, where you are a bank teller and you have conversation with customers. You have to be able to write down customer`s name, address, account 3 and have a calculator handy, so you can calculate amounts. You will also have to write down an e-mail and than record the speed and accuracy of your typing. After that I had a live video interview with HR person, around 1 hour, 10 questions. Firstly she asked me about each of my previous positions and reasons I left. Than she asked some behavioral questions and gave me a chance to ask my questions. Now I wait for the results.

      Customer Representative Interview

      12 Sept 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Scotiabank (Toronto, ON)

      Interview

First completing the online application and submitting resume. Then a webcam recorded questionnaire. And then a online live interview. After spending time to prepare my surroundings and myself for the online interview, the recruiter firstly came late and let me know that she was experiencing technical difficulties and asked me to try the live interview on my phone. While this, she called me on my phone to continue with the interview. So I was simultaneously trying to get the app to work while answering her questions on the phone. She then continued the interview on the phone while I continually struggled logging in to the app. For the first few questions I could not recall what I told he really. Extremely robotic rapid fire questions. Not asking about experiences. Just confirming yes or no. I applied to a specific posting with a specific location. During the interview, the recruiter let me know that if successful, the candidate would be placed to a nearby location, not the one applied to. Found that a bit pointless when completing the online job application earlier. Overall, one of the worst interview experiences I had. I usually leave an interview able to reflect on the overall standing and reflect on questions. This was one interview I was more than glad to have over, and I could feel the recruiter felt the same way. She was definitely rushing through, most likely to interview other candidates.
