I applied through other source. I interviewed at Slater & Gordon UK (Leeds, England) in Jan 2026
Interview
Panel interview. Email mixup, they had sent the Zoom meeting link date an hour too early. Not ideal off the bat.
No technical / competency questions were asked.
Awkward three interviewer panel. 2 managers and a colleague.
One of the managers seemed like they’d rather be doing anything else than interviewing candidates, totally disinterested.
The colleague looked equally bored, and both of them asked one question each, both of which excruciatingly forced.
At the end of the interview, when I was asked if I had any questions, I felt the responses from some of the panelists were dismissive and condescending.
Overall a bizarre interview. Probably the most uncomfortable one I’ve ever had.
If someone at S&G is reading this, stop doing panel interviews if you can’t find staff who are interested in doing them.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Slater & Gordon UK in Feb 2026
Interview
Applied and two days later, received a telephone call from the very friendly Talent Acquision team inviting me to a Teams interview which took place 2 weeks later. The interview was with the principal lawyer and another lawyer on Teams, lasted roughly 45 minutes and was a very informal conversation regarding my current role, my ambitions and very pleasant. The talent acquision team kept me thoroughly updated and was very kind and I was told over a week later that I got the job (over the telephone) - genuinely the nicest team and I have been applying for Paralegal roles for around 3 months and recruitment are not as nice.
