I am based in Houston, Texas. My other passion besides law and “paralegaling”, is horseback riding and training. I have ridden for 28 years now and originally wanted to become a veterinarian specializing in equine lameness until I realized I didn’t have the stomach for it. So I went to my next strength which involves researching, application, forming an argument, and drafting. So happily I became a paralegal on the civil side of the fence and I also moonlight as a horseback riding lesson instructor a few evenings a week. I love my job, especially when I had the opportunities to work with out of state attorneys. I never thought I would own my own business providing services to attorneys when I was younger. But as I reflect on it, I feel thrilled! I spend my free time with my husband and my beautiful stepdaughter going to parks, church, hiking, riding, playing sports, and other recreational family activities. She is also horse crazy and wants to be a barrel racer in rodeos. That is my other thrill too! I ensure deadlines are met come hell or high water. I strangely seem to thrive under pressure and think more clearly when things become hectic. I think outside of the box and always seek appropriate resolutions when problem solving, especially when prioritizing and keeping clients happy. I value integrity and honesty. I believe you have to work hard for what you want and have. I was raised without a sense of entitlement towards the world. I am a great and cohesive team player, but innovative, independent, and self-motivated. I usually take the initiative to delve and study for answers or feasible solutions myself, but I have not been afraid to ask questions or for clarification to ensure accuracy in my work product. I am also comfortable engaging with all types of people from clients, opposing counsel, and court staff. I have been described by former employers as enthusiastic with a pleasant attitude. Also, they noted my eagerness to always help out. One attorney described my attention to detail and work as 98% accurate which made me proud inside.
