      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Staples in Jun 2016

      Interview

I applied online then the next day they called me and left a voicemail on my phone saying that they want to interview me. So then I called them back the next day and I spoke to the lady who left me a message and we setup my interview for 11:30am the next day with the general manager. I arrived a couple minutes earlier and so I told one of the cashier's that I was here for a interview and it turns that the general manager was standing right next to her (I guess he was waiting for me) and so we went into his office. He asked me a couple of questions and went threw my application and over my availability. He saw that I was currently working at another retail store and so he asked me if I was leaving it or if I want to work around it meaning have a second job. So I told him that I would like to work around my current job. That's when he said that he had two openings one from 5pm-i believe closing and the other one was from 6am-12pm and so I told him that I would like the earlier one so that way I can still work my usual hour's at my other job. He started to tell him a bit about the job and what the dress code is and what the pay is. He told me that it was part time which didn't bother me at all since I already have another job. So then he told that I would get a email from them in regards to them requiring some information from me for my background check. So I got the email a couple of hour's later and I did what it told me to do. He told me that the background check would take 24-84 hour's then after that they'll see if they want to offer me the job or not. Literally less then 10 hour's after the background check started it was completed then I got email saying that they just require some more additional information so that way they can get ready for my first day

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Staples (Clifton, NJ) in Jul 2016

      Interview

I applied online and checked in with them after a few days. They called me to set up in interview within a few days and I went to the interview. It went well, I'd say. The manager was so friendly and practically told me the next process in the hiring process which is the background check and prompted that I have the job as long as it's good. We left it at that, he told me to expect an email confirming the acceptance to do a background check and if all is well I'd be working there within the week. For 6 days I didn't receive the email so I called them, they ended up telling me I was red flagged in their HR system and couldn't continue with the hiring process, told me to call HR to find out why. This is the most unprofessional experience I ever had, why did they call me for an interview if I was red flagged in the first place? The only way to be red flagged is not passing the assessment test in the application.
