As others have said, State Farm is outsourcing their HR work to a company called HireVue to have candidates record themselves answering HR questions. It's extremely disrespectful to require my time to film answers to these questions when no time of their own is offered in return to answer any questions I may have about the position or company. This practice also opens the door for discrimination by allowing a reviewer to judge a person on their looks, mannerisms, and cadence before a candidate even speaks to anyone employed at the company about the job they're potentially being hired for. How a person performs on camera is not an accurate depiction of how they will do in an interview or a job that will require reciprocal communication. HireVue has also had controversy in the past using AI to scan users faces to determine which candidates would be the best fit. State Farm needs to hire more people in HR to offer a proper hiring process before they hire anyone else.

I didn't waste my time with their unethical and disrespectful interview process
Overall the process was very okay, the recruiter was very kind and receptive of questions, but the first round was a one-way interview through hirevue. I wish there were more human interaction, but overall not a bad experience. The recruiter did an excellent job of keeping me in the loop on the next steps and such.
