I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at State Farm (Dallas, TX) in Dec 2015
Interview
I applied online and was contacted to take 3 tests (keyboarding, behavioral and mock customer service calls). I completed the tests and received an email a couple of days later stating my results were competitive. I scheduled an interview and was asked the questions that are pretty much outlined on this site already. For the first time ever, I was really well prepared for the interview.

Question 1
Tell me about your educational background and your work history. What is your work ethic? Tell me about a time you used different forms of technology when working with a customer. What do you know about State Farm? What do you think a Claim Associate does? Tell me a time you received behavioral feedback and what did you do? Tell me about a time you had a rude or difficult customer and how did you deal with them. Tell me about a time you had a disagreement with a co-worker.
Easy quick responsive very interpersonal easy to engage genuine personable I felt like it really gave great insight on who and how I am and how I can benefit the company as a whole
Lengthy and long random questions and typing test. Be prepared that if you pass you’ll have a lot of work and should be able to maintain it. Not for faint of heart.

Tell me about a time you had to make a difficult decision
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at State Farm (Richardson, TX) in Jul 2025
Interview
The interview was pretty simple, they asked basic behavioral health questions and questions regarding your experience and how it will contribute to the position you were applying for. I was offered but declined due to the salary. The experience I had wasn’t worth taking the change for the drop in pay. Interviewer was pretty straight forward advised they would have negotiated pay IF I had auto experience - even though I had 5 years in managing claims and I wouldn’t be managing only customer care.
