      Merchandise Coordinator Interview

      25 Apr 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I interviewed at Stitch Fix (San Francisco, CA)

      Interview

I applied online and had a phone screening along with multiple other phone interviews. Was asked to complete a project consisting of multiple parts. Had an in-person interview at SF headquarters.

      Question 1

While I admire Stitch Fix as a company and the business they have built I found the interview process to be extremely chaotic and lacking professionalism. I had multiple phone interviews with different people but was given little information about the role itself. Was asked to complete a project but was missing key information. All of that aside the actual interview itself was what I found to be particularly upsetting. The large group of girls interviewing me were on their computers the entire time and barely looked up in response to answers I gave or questions I asked. There was no "leader" and they seemed ill-prepared to even ask questions about my experience. The equipment for the presentation wasn't working and I felt like I was interviewing to be a part of a sorority more then working at a company. I did not receive an offer nor did I receive feedback in regards to my follow-up emails about the interview process or my candidacy. Whether or not someone is right for a role in a company the amount of time and effort that goes into preparing for an interview, including completing a project, should be met with courtesy and respect.
