I applied to be a part time Stylist and about a week after I got an invitation for an interview. I actually looked up reviews on here to prepare and felt pretty confident that I would do well. Well, I was definitely wrong. In the email I was told to arrive ten minutes early which I did. My interview was supposed to start at 3 pm and the people interviewing for the position along with me were all asked to go to this area to type up our note to the "client" from your Pinterest board at 3. After I finished my note, I waited to be taken back to where my interview would be. My interview started about 15-20 minutes after the scheduled time. Not a big deal. However, when it was time to start my interview the girls were nice and all but I felt like they weren't really paying attention to me. They also didn't seem as prepared as they should've been because they kept asking me the same question in different ways which made me feel like I was repeating myself so it was throwing me off. I didn't feel like they got a good feel for who I was because they just kept focusing on this one topic. Then came time for the live styling portion. This absolutely killed me. They had three pieces of clothing hanging up that I had to pick what style it was (boho, classic, preppy, etc) then choose what age group I would choose it for, and lastly come up with an outfit from head to toe using that one article of clothing. I figured I had this pretty figured out and the first piece of clothing I was asked to style was a long sleeve button up shirt, I picked an age group (I chose college girl) but then they said to pick a number. They said they wanted a broad age range because everyone can wear their clothing as long as it fits. So then when it comes time for me to style the outfit from head to toe I begin by saying if it was a teenager I would style it like this, for a college girl like this, etc etc and they were like just pick one outfit. Okay I chose the college girl and they didn't seem to pleased with my choices. Then they asked me to move on to a pair of purple leather pants and how I would style it for a 50 year old. Clearly they didn't like my answers because they didn't even let me style the last article of clothing, they just decided to move on to my Pinterest page. While I'm showing them and explaining my Pinterest choices, they didn't even seem to be paying attention and at one point one of the girls interviewing me waved to someone outside the room. It felt like they could care less. Not really professional in my opinion. Be sure to look up what boho, classic, romantic, preppy, edgy styles are and I would even suggest getting a box for yourself to see how it works. I used to have a subscription to them and that helped me with the note and Pinterest page part. It also helped me understand how they style their clients.
