      Staff Engineer Interview

      18 Dec 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at StubHub in Dec 2024

      Interview

Initial HR contact asked some good technical questions which was positively surprising. Next round was doing a code review which honestly was very simplistic for a sr/staff role but easily cleared. Next round was coding which was again a very simple problem but just not a good interview question in the sense that it wasn't very scalable to sr/staff role, and it felt very subjective and focused on style rather than substance. I completed the task but they flunked me without feedback so unclear what happened.

      Question 1

Provided some Java code with very obvious inefficiencies.
