Not bad just a interview with normal amount of questions, I'm not the one who work as teacher that I came from EE background but they give me the interview

I received a random message on LinkedIn from a recruiter. We had a call where they went over interview prep and scheduled the meeting. They asked pretty standard questions. Teaching experience, why teaching and why this specific academy, a time where you dealt with a difficult situation or person, how do you take constructive criticism then a simulated situation where they give you a scenario about ‘difficult’ parents and kids.
I applied online. I interviewed at Success Academy Charter Schools (New York, NY) in Apr 2026
Interview
This has to be hands down one of the worst interviews I have ever been to. I was in absolute disbelief that the interviewers main focus was not on education but rather on disciplining children. At one point we even role played on how I would punish a child, to which the interviewer informed me to be even more strict. Considering that they work with a significant number of student of color, this practice feels incredibly racist. It seems like they are in the business of hiring correctional officers that punish children and guise themselves as pioneers of education. These company should not exist.

Question 1
They prioritized asking me how beneficial it was for me to have strict teachers that supposedly aided my growth as a student (incredibly disturbing). As others have mentioned, they also asked me how strict my parents were?! Insanely unprofessional.
