I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Success Academy Charter Schools (New York, NY) in Apr 2019
Interview
There were three interviews. At one point, I interviewed with the CEO and she created weird dynamics and told us children don't need apologies from adults. She also asked what our parents did and other questions that felt deeply uncomfortable for a first round interview. Everyone was smiley and weird, felt very robotic.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There was a writing portion where we had to analyze a poem and two interviews.
A lot about willingness to discipline, how you grew up, adaptability, etc. Also stuff on what my educational experience was like (strict or not strict)? Also mock roleplay about disciplining a kid

I received a random message on LinkedIn from a recruiter. We had a call where they went over interview prep and scheduled the meeting. They asked pretty standard questions. Teaching experience, why teaching and why this specific academy, a time where you dealt with a difficult situation or person, how do you take constructive criticism then a simulated situation where they give you a scenario about ‘difficult’ parents and kids.
I applied online. I interviewed at Success Academy Charter Schools (Bronx, NY) in May 2026
Interview
The interview is done very quickly, and the questions are to the point. The interviewee should try to answer in a short, precise manner. Confidence is essential for the interview.
