      Independence and Wellbeing Advisor Interview

      25 May 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Ipswich, England
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Suffolk County Council (Ipswich, England)

      Interview

Point scoring system based on legal knowledge and current guidelines as they apply in practice and the role specifically. Two interviewers. There is absolutely no leeway - job interviews no longer care about your academic achievements, professional qualifications, years of experience or loyalty to an organisation. They only care that you score points based on their scoring matrix. This means that if you are good at meeting tick-box expectations, you will get the job. No consideration will be given as to whether you can actually do the job. This is something older candidates who are returning to the jobs market will not be used to. As an example, employers no longer care about "why do you want this job". They may ask this question, but it has no bearing on your points score. They care that you score the maximum points on each question, as this indicates whether you can meet their key performance indicators (KPIs). This indicates whether you will be able to meet specific business objectives. Remember, they don't want or care about you; they want your capability.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They asked a question that related to the Care Act, so they were looking for a very specific part of that legislation.
