I applied online. I interviewed at Suffolk County Council (Ipswich, England)
Interview
Point scoring system based on legal knowledge and current guidelines as they apply in practice and the role specifically. Two interviewers. There is absolutely no leeway - job interviews no longer care about your academic achievements, professional qualifications, years of experience or loyalty to an organisation. They only care that you score points based on their scoring matrix. This means that if you are good at meeting tick-box expectations, you will get the job. No consideration will be given as to whether you can actually do the job.
This is something older candidates who are returning to the jobs market will not be used to. As an example, employers no longer care about "why do you want this job". They may ask this question, but it has no bearing on your points score. They care that you score the maximum points on each question, as this indicates whether you can meet their key performance indicators (KPIs). This indicates whether you will be able to meet specific business objectives. Remember, they don't want or care about you; they want your capability.

Question 1
They asked a question that related to the Care Act, so they were looking for a very specific part of that legislation.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Suffolk County Council (Ipswich, England) in Oct 2025
Interview
Competency based questions, cv, presentation and questions at interview stage but you are informed this before and given the title/question on the presentation you are required to answer. Very quick from application to interview process and good at giving interview feedback however the points could have been picked up from a CV

Give strategic leadership overview of my plan to improve the area of the job I was applying for
I interviewed at Suffolk County Council (Huntingdon, England)
Interview
Fine, somewhat confusing questions and sometimes it felt as if they were not fully trying to communicate but instead were just trying to catch me out or someting. I feel like they could have listened more carefully, I am not very experienced after all.

Question 1
They kept asking me to expand my answers but did not really communicate what they were looking for so I ended up having to guess, bit old fashioned way of interviewing
