I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Sysco (Los Angeles, CA) in Apr 2012
Interview
The process consists of an initial 1:1 interview with a district manager followed by an interview at the Los Angeles headquarters on a separate day. That HQ interview involves 3 1:1 interviews where you'll meet with a sales director, human resource personnel and the division president if he is available. They ask very standard situational, behavior type interview questions but each person asks almost the same question! Be prepared and have at least 3 examples for each situation. I was told that the time between the interview and an offer can take up to 3 weeks but I found out the next day. The training class started 3 weeks later so the timing was in my favor I suppose. I did receive an offer, which i've accepted and one tip I can give is to ask the president what his vision is for the future of his sales force.

Question 1
How has your college degree program prepared you for a career in sales?
It went well. Nice people. They were interested in my interest in food sales and my desire to work hard. I met with three different people. They seem to want to build a strong team.
The interview process was very long and fairly disorganized. First, there is a phone interview, then I was invited to a hotel for in-person interviews. After a few weeks, I was asked to come to the ofiices for another interview.
I was interviewed by 3 different people in a round robin process. Each interview was private and then I would move on the next person for the interview. All interviewers were polite and nice.
