I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Thermo Fisher Scientific (Atlanta, GA) in Jun 2011
Interview
First interview included a computerized skills test and a face-to-face interview, mostly behavioral questions. The second interview was conducted with the hiring manager who asked many personal questions that I found odd but not overly intrusive. I was then conducted on a tour of the facility (lunchrooms, etc) and sat with a working CSR for about half an hour.
Be VERY careful how you answer the question "are you willing to relocate?". I was given feedback that because I was not willing to work in China or Abu Dhabi (!), my application had been rejected. As CSR is a relatively low-level position, and it was in the Atlanta, GA area, I find this reason for rejection to be less than candid. It left me with a negative impression of the company. I can handle not being the best candidate. I do not like being given feedback of questionable truthfulness.
