I was called in for an interview by the hiring manager. The owner was also included on the email invitation although he was not identified as the owner. I had done my research on the company and knew him by name.
The interview was very comfortable in that the manager and owner were very polite and casual. It put me at ease that it was a familiar, casual workplace.
The office environment was pretty dull. The furniture was old and there was no attempt to decorate the lobby area. Not a great feel when you walk in. I later found out there was only one female employee who was in sales. I don't think clients typically visit their office. Most are remote.
Although I didn't get a call back, I really enjoyed the interview and meeting the owner.
