I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Turtle Bay (Bristol, England) in Nov 2019
Interview
Two stage, first being a face to face with the hiring manager & second being a presentation.
Stage one: Discussed the role, my CV & what I can bring to the role. The Hiring manager was really nice & had great flowing discussions.
Stage two: Was myself facing three individuals including FD, COO & the hiring manager. Prior to the meeting I was asked to produce a presentation reviewing how I would analyse the menus, I put hours into the presentation preparation & did more then asked for by creating a dataset to accompany the presentation. Other then the presentation we discussed the role & my CV for over an hour which were all positive conversations.
Result: My presentation was ‘patchy’ of which I feel was an incorrect observation. They claim they raised questions on it after I presented but this isn’t true & they even said they weren’t expecting the amount I had prepared. Along with this I was ‘overconfident’ in my abilities for a role I am appropriately experienced & felt confident in my ability to perform the role. I would intend to be confident to give them confidence in me to choose me.
Thoughts: As reading this you could tell, I am gutted to not be selected as the role was perfect for me & shocked by their observations.
