This was by far the worst recruiting process I've ever been a part of, and I'd go so far as to say there may not be any worse. HR there is alarmingly incompetent.
I had my first phone screening in February and the on-site final round concluded in late April (with several redundant interviews in between). I did not hear back for a month after writing several times to HR, and when I called they simply said, "Sorry we went in another direction with our candidates." To top it all off, I received a generic rejection email this week from HR.
Don't waste your time with this recruiting process. It's a major headache -- HR is unresponsive, disorganized, and straight up unprofessional. The job opportunity was exciting, but the way HR went about their business was a major turn off.
Examples of their problems:
1. After my first round screening, we scheduled another phone interview. This turned out to be the exact same thing as the first round, which I had to interrupt halfway through -- they forgot I did the first round.
2. I did two skype interviews with different people in HR and it was the EXACT same interview.
3. They forgot one of these Skype interviews on two separate occasions. For one of them I had to miss class, but the lady never showed up for the interview.
HR will drag you along because they may not even know who you are when you are corresponding with them. Or that could just be the case with me, but I have a solid background so who knows.
Just trying to warn everyone, don't bother with this recruiting process. It will save you a lot of time. Maybe the finance department is solid, but if HR is any indication of how 20th Century Fox operates, you're wasting your time.
