I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at UNC Health (Chapel Hill, NC) in Dec 2017
Interview
Recruiter was extremely friendly and helpful during the process. I had two interviews, one of which went extremely well and the other one went poorly. I first interviewed for a childrens position, which was behavioral based, as were all other nursing interviews I've had. The nurse manager I met with was extremely nice and made me feel relaxed. She then offered to give me a tour of the entire children's hospital. My next interview was with mother/baby. I assumed this would also be a behavioral based interview, and the nurse managers there said I could draw examples from anything, but when I used a non-nursing example for one answer, they were pretty rude and asked if I could relate it to nursing. I interviewed for a new grad position and they did not seem to understand that I have not had work experience yet and only spent 6 weeks in a labor/delivery clinical. The questions they asked were about extremely specific examples.
