I had a call with recruiter, then a call with a hiring manager. They requested a final interview with someone from the team and I provided them with my availability. Never got a follow-up, even after emailing the recruiter a couple of times. A month later, received an email that they moved on with another other candidate.
- Have you used Agile and how? Can you tell me your experience as a program manager? What is your leadership style like?

The interview process was pretty long compared to many other interviews I've done but I've moved on fairly quickly throughout and everything took probably a little bit over two weeks. A total of 4 interviews including a creative brief. Now I will be transparent. Everyone that had interviewed me at ultra was super friendly and seemed super passionate with what they do and it was a pleasure speaking with them. But the issue I had that made it a negative experience for me was telling me I practically got the job and all I needed to do was the last step but then the day of they tell me that they are actually not going to move forward with an offer due to company wanting restructure. I completely understand things happen, but what I do not and probably will never understand is if that they were not sure about the position then why had me go through all the way to the last minute and hint at me to choose them over another offer I had. Verbal offers are still offers and it is so cruel to play with someone's time and livelihood.
- Walk me through your portfolio. What is your favorite project and why? Tell me a time where you had to overcome a challenge?

Shawn asked me to briefly go over my employment history, accomplishments, etc. Then he asked me a few test questions. I was able to really open up and talk to him about my true skillsets, where I am strong, and where I am weak (most people tell you to not describe your weakness). Shawn really took everything to heart and digested the information, not immediately shutting off the moment he heard that I'm not strong in a particular subject matter. Shawn has a great mentorship leadership style, and discussed possible ways to overcome the shortcomings should the company extend an offer of employment. Great manager to be under if you can work under him.
- In high level, briefly describe Net Present Value.

Red flags right from the start. Quick summary: If you're a woman, this likely isn't the right company for you. Pre-screen: Video call with a recruiter who immediately let me know she was annoyed because she had wasted her entire day talking to "poor quality" candidates. She was looking forward to the end of our call because she was logging off for the rest of the day because she was "over it" (it was the early afternoon, btw). Somehow we power through and she wants me to meet with the hiring manager. Guess I wasn't "poor quality" like the others. Great, I guess? Interview with Hiring Manager: Yikes, where to begin? Oh, how about the blatant sexism and complete lack of professionalism. I was told there was no way the credentials on my resume were accurate and was reminded that they do background checks before hiring anyone. If that wasn't reason enough to end the meeting on the spot, he then told me this was a very high pressure role and asked how I "manage my emotions" under stress. Mind you, this role had fewer responsibilities than my previous one, so these insinuations were ridiculous. I figured I would at least see the interview through even though it was a lost cause at this point. The rest of the time was spent in what could be best be described as a pop quiz, with him asking me to define basic concepts and terminology (I was interviewing for a Senior level role). I easily answered his questions which he seemed to be surprised by. He didn't ask any questions about my previous work or experience, nor did he give me a chance to ask him anything. As soon as his "test" was over, he let me know he had to go and ended the meeting. We still had a good 8 minutes left, so there was plenty of time for a few questions. Hey, 8 minutes back in my day though, not like his answers would have mattered at this point. Post-interview: Not surprisingly, I received a generic rejection email the next day. I was planning on emailing the recruiter to let her know I was no longer interested in the position, so they saved me a few minutes there. This was easily the worst company I've ever interviewed with. While they tout their culture and brag about Ryan Reynolds being their spokesperson, it's clearly a toxic company at multiple levels. Not to mention their comp is at the very low end of the market. Maybe men will have a different experience and love it there, but I'm grateful I'll have nothing to do with them.
- Pop quiz on basic terminology.

The interview process consisted of an opening interview with the recruiter followed by an interview with the AVP, Media and Acquisition. The team that I was in contact with was very responsive and overall it was a positive experience.
- From your past managers, why would you choose which one was your favorite one, and why would they tell you now in terms of what you could improve?
- What are the social platforms that you are most proficient at and in what order?
- Give me a quick summary of your career and what made you apply for the role

The interview process was nothing short of amazing. Each person I spoke to provided a different perspective and genuinely took the time to get to know me. In the first round, they are very transparent with what they can offer to assure they are not wasting anyones time if it isn’t a good fit.
- In your last role, what is something you failed at and how did you handle it?

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Costa Mesa, CA
I applied online. I interviewed at Ultra Mobile (Costa Mesa, CA) in May 2022
I interviewed for the Brand Marketing Intern role in Costa Mesa, CA. All interviews were conducted remotely. Interview process was simple but tedious and dissapointing because of a lack of communication from the hiring team. THE GOOD: I had a pleasant interviewing experience. Three interviews total, in a span of three weeks. Each interview was 30 minutes with your typical interview questions (strengths, weaknesses, tell me about a time you worked on a team, etc.). THE MEH: I wish Ultra established efficient communication guidelines for their applicants. I was left in the dark for 3 weeks after my 3rd interview with the company. I only received one phone call throughout the entire process as an update. This was a week after my 3rd interview. And the phone call was to inform me they would be making a decision by next week. Did they? No. Silence. And so I write an email to the recruiter. I was told to wait for another week since the hiring manager was on PTO. And so a week I waited. No response. I wrote another email that same week. I was told the hiring manager was on PTO (to return Monday) and to wait another week. And so I wait again. Monday comes and no updates. I send out another email a few days later and learn the hiring manager is still on PTO for some reason (even though I was told in the initial email the hiring manager would return Monday?), but alas I would be getting my decision tomorrow 🙏🏼. The recruiter leaves a voice message on my phone the next day to tell me I did not get the position and to try again in the fall. I understand the interview process is lengthy but to me it just seems unprofessional to go radio silent for weeks on end without consistent updates, unless you count one phone call from the recruiter in the span of 3 weeks as an update. In summary, the interviews were pleasant with informative interviewers (I learned a lot about the company and the role I was applying for) but the overall interview process could use some work. I wish the company respected my time (or just applicants in general — based on the previous interview reviews this seems to be a recurring problem). tl;dr: Updates were sparse (one phone call from the company); you’re really just sitting there 2-3 weeks after three interviews like “Did I get an offer or?”.
- 1) Tell us about yourself 2) What is your experience working in a cross functional setting? 3) How do you stay organized? 4) Tell me a time you handled conflict within a team setting.

I didn't follow through with all of the interviews for this position since I accepted an offer from another company. My experience was great. The interview process was clearly explained to me, quick, easy, and smooth. This set a very good impression of the company on me. If I hadn't gotten the offer from the other company, I would have loved to go through the entire interview process since all my interviewers were enjoyable to talk with. Work culture is very important to me and I could tell that they have that there. One con is that the interview process was long. This position required the candidates to go through five or so meetings before getting a final decision. The first is a recruiter call, and the next four are with the hiring manager and 3 team members. I thought it was quite a long interview process for an assistant role. However, talking with each person individually gave me a better understanding of what the team is like, what each person's role is, etc. The interviews were scheduled quickly and within days of each other so it probably wouldn't be so bad to crank out all 5 interviews.

Interview process was good. Had 5 rounds of interviews and each one was 30mins long. Super easy to schedule and all remote interviews. The first few interviews are more about your own skills an experience. The last interview is more about listening to the company's vision and double checking culture fit.
- Describe how you work with cross functional teams?
- What if your current company offers you more money?

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Irvine, CA
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Ultra Mobile (Irvine, CA) in Jan 2022
One of the worst interview experiences I've had. The recruiter contacted me to schedule a virtual 30 min interview for the following week. The day of the interview comes, and the recruiter doesn't even greet me. Initially, they had their camera on then turned it off because apparently, their wifi was bad but at no point did the audio cut off. Next, they proceed to spend the first 15-20 mins of the interview talking about the company. Then they asked me to tell them about myself, but they were very disengaged, so I could tell they were just going through the motions. Finally, they tell me their best candidate is already in the last round and that I should just reapply in 6 months. Waste of my time and a very rude and unprofessional hiring team.
- Tell me about yourself? *That's it
