I applied online. I interviewed at Urgenci (Seattle, WA)
Interview
3 stages to this companies interview process. First is a phone screen and then I met for an informal in person with one of the founders. After that I was invited to their office for a 3 hour (ended up being 4 hour) in person interview with 4 different people. Very nice people, fairly informal, they want to get to know you and your background to see if its a good fit.
They talked about how they want to get companies to provide a great interview experience, and they want to as well. So even if a person doesn't get the offer, they will still have good things to say after things get over with. They talk about getting back to the person in a timely manner after the interview is over with as an example of what to do. Needles to say, they don't live by their own rule of thumb. They were quick to get me into next stages, however once the final interview was over, they kept pushing me off and then never got back to me. At the end of the final interview they told me I would hear back in a couple days. Once I did no hear back I emailed a follow up and they said Monday of the following week. After that, they didn't respond back to my emails. So I guess I didn't get the job. Either way, it would have been nice to hear back either way.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Urgenci
Interview
Applied online and received an email from CEO looking to set up phone screen. Phone screen was fairly brief and focused on past experience and why this role. I was then asked about salary expectations and given opportunity to get my questions answered. Set a time for in person meeting later in the week.
The first half hour of in person was almost identical to phone screen. We dove a little deeper into their model and how it isn't recruiting as usual. Their solution is flexible and and focuses on creating a brand and leaving a legacy of best practices focusing on providing a quality candidate experience. At the end of this meeting was told that the next step was to meet the rest of the team and that I would be receive an email later that day to establish a time to do so.
Never received the email or a response to the follow up call and email I sent. Considering the are in the recruiting industry and their emphasis on best practices and candidate experience I was surprised by this. I genuinely feel lucky to not have ended up at Urgenci in light of this contradiction.
