The issue here is the lack of respect the recruiters and hiring manager displayed. When someone gets through three rounds and is told they are one of two candidates to have a final interview with a VP, and then gets an email from recruiting saying that the other candidate has been chosen with no other feedback, is not how this should be handled. In my experience this often portends internal issues where employees are not treated any better.
