I applied in-person. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Victoria's Secret (Ottawa, ON) in Sept 2013
Interview
Interview was at a job fair.
They gathered us in groups of 5 or so asked a few questions. The interviewer then asked 2 of the girls to give her their resumes and told them that they will be in contact and that she wanted to ask the rest of us (4 people) a few more questions. However, there weren't more questions. She told us that we move to the second round of interviews and that we need to fill out an application form.
From then we filled out the application form then went on to a more formal interview setting (still group interview but only 3 people) where they asked more detailed questions. At the end of the interview they asked if we had any questions and shortly after we were told that we will get a call by the end of the week
It was very obvious who they cut out in the first round, girls who weren't dressed well or in things that were a little out of fashion. Some were credited, you shouldn't expect to get a job showing up in jeans and a sweater, it's showing zero effort. However, it was also hard to see people get cut because they were not what society considers beautiful. To be honest, I was worried about my chances since I never view myself that way.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The most unexpected question was asking me about sales when I was applying for a cashier position
I was asked to sell a pen to the interviewer. I believe the answer they’re looking for is for you to start asking questions about what the customer needs/is looking for in a pen, then explain how that pen can meet those requirements.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you improved a process at your job.
Quick and simple, group interview with many other applicants. I applied for seasonal work and was kept after. We each had our own moment with the hiring manager and it was a quick process

Question 1
What about Victorias Secret makes you want to work for us?
They needed a cashier badly, so the interview was really quick and easy. I had a nice conversation with the shop manager, we talked about my previous experience and availability.
