I applied online, and was sent a fairly long hackerrank challenge. Spending 1.5 hours the next day to complete this timed challenge (in which I think I performed really well), the recruiter reaches out 4 hours later to tell me, that "after talking to the hiring team, they are now instead looking for someone with more experience." This is extremely unprofessional from their side, with absolutely no respect given to the candidate's time. In the age where it is so easy to design a common hackerrank challenge and send to all the candidates, companies should show restraint and only give it those candidates that they are genuinely interested in. It leaves a bad impression about the company which is not good for the organization interested in getting quality talent on board.
